antón domènech, cassiel

Cassiel Antón is a versatile musician, a vocal enthusiastic for his instrument and one of the founding members of the CrossingLines Ensemble.

He began his music studies at the conservatory of his native city, Alicante, with the professors Javier García and Felipe Lanuza, and thanks to the Benidorm International Music Course he had the opportunity to further refine his playing with Branimir Slokar. He completed his advanced studies with Ricardo Casero, Raúl García and Daniel Lassalle at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC), obtaining a distinction for his final degree project on Contemporary Trombone.

Later he graduated from the prestigious trombone school at the University of Arts CODARTS in Rotterdam, taught by professors including Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders, Remko de Jager, Ben van Dijk, Bart van Lier and George Wiegel. In 2009, he took up the solo trombone position in the Dutch Ballet Orchestra, and a year later he became second trombone for the Radio Kamer Filarmonie, positions he combined until 2013.

Back in Barcelona, he has a busy schedule as a freelance musician, collaborating regularly in orchestral and opera productions, ancient and contemporary music and improvisations. During the last few years, he has been particularly interested in the study of motor skills and pedagogy of his instrument, as well as improvisation, harmony and modern composition, a task that he combines with teaching at the music conservatories in Vic and Igualada, and at the Escola de Música del Palau.
