Laia began her musical career at the age of six with the encouragement of flautists Joan Vayreda and Dolors Serra, later graduated under Vicents Prats at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC), as well as studying with Carlos Bruneel at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels and Robert Winn and Dirk Peppel at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst of Cologne.
She has won awards in several prestigious competitions, such as the Permanent Competition for Young Performers of Spain, El Primer Palau, the National Flute Contest of Benelux in the Netherlands, the Arjau Open Music Performance Competition, the Sant Anastasi Instrumental Contest, the Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Contest and the Ciutat de Vinaròs International Chamber Music Competition. She has received grants from the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Government of Catalonia, the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now initiative and the German Richard Wagner Stiftung foundation.
She has performed as a soloist with the RTVE Orchestra, Orquestra de Cambra d'Andorra and Philharmonisches Orquester Hagan, as well as at the Mas i Mas festivals, Schubertiada in Vilabertran, the second NRW-Flötentage and Bayreuth Festival. She collaborates with different orchestras, including Brussels Monnaie Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Beethoven Orquester Bonn, Folkwangkammerorchester Essen and Westdeutsche Sinfonia Leverkusen.
After playing with the Philarmonisches Orchester Hagen and the Philarmonisches Kiel for several seasons, Laia has held the Symphoniker Hamburg Coordinated Soloist's position since 2014. At the same time, she has been developing her passion for chamber music with the pianist Cosmin Boeru and the Musor Quartet in the field of classical music, as well as with CrossingLines Ensemble in the field of new music. Since 2019, she has a fixed place on the Oldenburg´s Opera orchestra.
