With headquarters in Barcelona and formed by renowned contemporary music performers, the ensemble CrossingLines has established itself as one of the leading advocates of new music by commissioning, performing, promoting and recording works from a whole new generation of national and international composers.


The group collaborates regularly with L'Auditori de Barcelona on their ‘Sampler Sèries’ cycle of new music and has played in many national and international festivals of contemporary music (Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Eclat Festival Stuttgart, Sounds of Stockholm, Aahrus, Festival Mixtur, MEMMIX, CNDM Madrid,  Mostra Sonora Sueca, Ciclo Vang de CentroCentro, among others). On these stages, the group has presented more than 40 premieres from the current experimental scene. The ensemble has recorded under the record labels Neu Records and Col Legno and has collaborated with international renowned groups like Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Ensemble Recherche, and  Ensemble Modern.


The ensemble’s unusual instrumental palette, unique artistic approach and detailed preparation of programs have made it a reference for a new generation of creators. As part of its commitment to spreading new music, CrossingLines puts on a varied and unusual program of events to bring its music to all kinds of audiences.


CrossingLines has been supported by the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC) and was the first contemporary music group to obtain the línia de subvencions per a activitats de les orquestres prioritàries, which is the most important funding the Catalonian institutions gives to a musical group. The ensemble has also been supported by Instituto de la Juventud (INJUVE) and the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Foundation.


CrossingLines has had a residency at Fabra i Coats creation factory during the past several years and has recently started a new collaboration with Fundació Phonos, a Catalan institution innovative in the field of electroacoustic music, and one of the oldest in the world devoted to this field.
